Ready for canadian women's open
(Sean kilpatrick/canadian press)It is truly hard to believe that this week is the cn canadian women's open in mirabel, que.The year has flown by, and now we have only three domestic events left before the asian swing begins. It's always nice to play on home soil and it really doesn't matter to me what province we play in.

It's been a crazy week.We were in portland, ore., for the Safeway Classic last week and it's definitely tough getting to the east coast from Portland.I was scheduled to play monday in mirabel in the ladies proam on the tournament course the laurentien at hillsdale golf and country club.I've played the proam every year since 2007, so i took a redeye flight from portland to montreal with a connection in chicago.

The plane from chicago to montreal was quite small and there were a lot of players and caddies on my flight and i was quite worried if i was going to get my clubs on because those planes usually don't carry a lot of weight. But i was one of the lucky ones.I got both my clothes and golf bags on.I guess it's an omen for a great week.

It also pays to be loyal to one airline that little priority sticker comes in handy!

I arrived at the hotel in montreal in time to change quickly and head to the course to make my afternoon tee time.Somehow running on only two hours sleep, i managed to play decent golf and had a wonderful time with my group.I don't really remember the last time i slept for 12 hours. The next morning.

The dorris effect my game is shaping up nicely.

I've taken steps to elevate my mental game over the last few weeks.I'm working with a new mental coach.Christopher dorris and i have worked together before when i was trying to make it on tour in 2004.I was quite successful that year, winning six minitour events. It was a coincidence we started to chat again(Facebook).

It's truly amazing how off track you can get on the basic fundamentals of hitting, chipping and putting a golf ball.Basically, i had lost the"Target focus"On and around the greens and was too into the mechanics and worried about missing the chip or putt. Now i'm back into picking out a very specific target and seeing how the ball rolls to reach that target.

My mind is also much stronger as chris isn't specifically a golf guru, he coaches Ralph Lauren Outlet all sorts of people ceo's and small business owners as well as athletes.I'm much more positive about everything and it definitely helps me play better golf.

I'm really trying to keep things light this week and not think about it too much. But i've had some Pandora Charms UK great practice and getting a second look at the course in the wednesday proam is always helpful.

Clearwater, fla.Phillies pitcher phillippe aumont, who represented canada in the world baseball classic, called his team's brawl with team mexico"Pretty intense"On tuesday at phillies' camp in clearwater.

"It was the first time i've ever been in an actual brawl, where people are going to town,"Said aumont. "I was trying to stay out of trouble.I was more frozen than anything else when i got there, because when i got there everything just kind of separated.I was just trying to look out and not try to get sucker punched. "

After the brawl, aumont tweeted that catcher sebastian valle, his phillies teammate and one of the instigators on team mexico, was"Swinging at people with his catcher's mask. "Aumont finished the tweet with the hashtag"Stupid,"But later deleted it.

"Heat of the moment,"Aumont said of the tweet. "I probably said 'hi' this morning.I'm not going to look at him and try to fight him. He's my teammate. On the field it was a little different. What he did, i thought it was a little low, but that's none of my business. He's the one who deals with that. "

Aumont regretted that the brawl extended into the crowd and endangered fans watching the game and leaving the stadium.

"We get intense on the field, and when it starts to go on out in the stadium, with families and everything start getting in danger, that's when it's too much,"He said. "I understand the fans, it's really intense; It's on a national level?Country pride and stuff. But let us players settle that.

"I had people there that were wearing canadian hats and everything, and they said as soon as it happened and they started having fights in the crowd, they took off their hat and put it in their bags and just, you know, pretend you're an american fan or whatever,"He said.

"We got escorted out,"He said. "I had people in town and they wanted to go shopping after the game.So i'm leaving by myself and i had three security guards escorting me to the parking lot. They stayed with me there until i got to the car, and then they watched me leave in the car.So they escorted everybody to the bus, and there were police officers everywhere.

"We were outnumbered,"He said. "By a lot. "

Aumont, who called his canadian club"A bunch of failed hockey players,"Said canada's subsequent matchup with the united states team was"The best game(He's)Ever been a part of. "

"From the first pitch until they finished us in the ninth inning, i had butterflies the whole game.It was a do or die, and it was so much fun?Everyone getting up and cheering, highfiving, all that stuff.I threw that seventh inning and i came in and i was still shaking. "

With team canada out of the tournament, aumont is back in phillies' camp and competing for a job in the team's opening day bullpen. But he'll have to adjust to the pace of spring training after the intensity of the wbc.The righty struggled in canada's loss to team italy, the product of what he described as a"Spike in adrenaline. "

"To come back and get back to the routine, it's like, 'what do i do with myself? What do i think?' I don't have to think about anything.I'm just so relaxed. "
